Hit the road, Jack!

What do you do on lazy weekends, when malls and the usual city haunts just won't cut it?

A road trip!

The fun starts as soon as we all pile up into the old family jalopy, sometimes not even quite certain where we're heading. The bickering over where to go is already half the fun.... Sundays that would find us driving through the winding backroads of Rizal, heading to Tayabas for lunch, or speeding up North to find an obscure little church that my mom heard about...

Roadtrips with my girl friends are few and far between; and that's what makes them most precious... Driving through NLEX (in a tow truck! beat that...), bouncing along Laiya to find the perfect beach spot, or simply driving up to ever-reliable Tagaytay for lunch and bonding over a cup of joe...

All you need is a germ of an idea, a full tank of gas, and the company of people who matter the most.

Of wet dreams and cold showers (I assure you, not what you're thinkng...)

One long stretch of road, known to all as Orchard, with its seemingly endless line of shopping malls. Not to mention countless more which seem to pepper every street of this tiny city-state. Truly every shop-aholic's wet dream.

But I just had to whip out my cellphone everytime, not to make phone calls, but to use the calculator and multiply every single price of every single item by PHP 33. It's the shopping equivalent of a cold shower.
